In case you didn’t know …
Samphire is owned and run by two Norfolk smallholders Karen and Jeff Nethercott. Karen used to be a corporate accountant whilst Jeff worked in the building trade but a few years ago they moved to a Norfolk smallholding and life changed forever.
Chickens and ducks were quickly followed by sheep, pigs and geese and the interest in smallholding became an obsession. In 2005 they gave up the day jobs and opened the first Samphire at Blickling Hall.
This is what happened then …
In 2009 a second Samphire was opened in Wymondham, just south of Norwich, this time with a café. Whew !
